What it is and why it matters
REMI stands for Remote Integration: a production model where a small camera crew works your venue while the switching, graphics, replay, and stream management happen in a control room miles away. The networks have produced this way for years. The economics finally make sense for everyone else.
Here's the math that matters to you. A traditional broadcast sends the whole crew and control room to your venue, and you pay for every body to travel, park, and eat. With REMI, the control room never moves. Only cameras and a compact transmission kit come to you.
That changes three things:
- Travel is mostly eliminated. Fewer people and fewer cases on site means a smaller invoice and a smaller footprint in your building. - You get senior crew on every show. Our best technical directors, graphics operators, and replay operators work your event from Freehold. Nobody gets the B team because the A team is on a highway somewhere. - One control room covers several events. Back-to-back productions run through the same room and the same people. That's how a weekly league or a recurring corporate series gets broadcast quality at a price that survives repetition.
We built our positioning around the Northeast on purpose. From Freehold we cover New Jersey, New York City, and Philadelphia with a short drive for the camera crew and no drive for the control room. Recurring regional productions are where REMI becomes an obvious budget decision. Farther away, the model still works: the kit flies, the control room stays home.
How we run it
Site survey and path design
An engineer verifies how signals get from your venue to Freehold: venue internet, dedicated circuits, or connectivity we bring ourselves. Backhaul gets a primary path and a backup, always.
On-site crew, kept small
Camera operators, an audio tech, and an A2/utility who owns the transmission kit. They load in light and fast.
The control room does the heavy lifting
In Freehold, the technical director cuts the show, graphics and replay run their stations, and an engineer watches every camera path and the outgoing stream. Our studio doubles as the REMI control room, purpose-built rather than improvised. See the studio (/studio/)
Comms bind the two rooms
The director in Freehold talks to camera operators at your venue with the same comms discipline we run when everyone shares a hallway. Latency is measured, managed, and rehearsed before doors.

Program is assembled and encoded at the control room, monitored end to end, and recorded in both places.

Questions we get asked
What does REMI stand for, and is it the same as a remote broadcast?
Remote Integration. Cameras at your event, control room at our studio. People use "remote production" loosely; the defining feature of REMI is that switching, graphics, and replay happen away from the venue, run by a full crew, not a lone operator.
Is the quality really the same as an on-site production?
The program is switched, mixed, and monitored by the same people on the same equipment they'd use in your building. The engineering risk moves to transmission, which is exactly where we concentrate the planning: surveyed paths, a backup path, and rehearsal before doors.
What if the connection between the venue and the control room fails?
Every REMI show runs a primary and a backup transmission path, and the show is recorded at the venue as well as the control room. A path failure means a failover, not a lost broadcast, and there is always a master recording.
What does REMI save us compared to a full on-site crew?
Travel, per diems, and the hours a large crew spends on site are the big line items. The savings grow with repetition: a one-off saves meaningfully, a season or series saves a lot. Your quote will show both models side by side if you want the comparison.
Does REMI work outside New Jersey?
Yes. The Northeast is where the economics are strongest for us, but the venue kit travels anywhere. Distance changes the transmission plan, not the model.
Can we visit the control room during our show?
Yes. Clients are welcome at the Freehold facility, and plenty prefer watching their show from the control room to watching it from a folding chair at the venue.
